What we store
Your account email and, if you gave one, the name you asked to appear on a report. For each sitting: the subject, the blueprint drawn for it, every question asked, every answer you typed, your stated confidence, the three judging passes with their evidence quotes, and the computed report. Purchases are recorded as a credit ledger entry with the payment processor's reference — we never see or store your card details.
Who can see a transcript
Nobody but you, by default. Reports and transcripts are private and access is enforced at the database level against your account. A transcript becomes visible to others only when you both publish a sitting and separately switch on "include transcript". Turning either off restores privacy on our surfaces immediately.
How rankings de-identify
Listing a result in public rankings publishes the subject, the Techne score, its margin, and the band. Your name appears only if you separately switch on "show my name". Scores whose margins overlap share a rank, which also prevents a listing from being pinned to an exact value. Ranking rows do not carry your email, your account identifier, or your transcript unless you have published those yourself.
Model providers
Questions and answers are sent to third-party model providers to run the examination and the judging passes. Do not enter personal information about yourself or anyone else in an answer — write about the subject, not about identifiable people.
Retention and deletion
Sittings and reports are kept while your account exists so you can return to them. Ask us to delete your account and we will remove your account, your sittings, your transcripts, and any published listings; ledger rows required for tax and accounting records are retained in a form that no longer identifies you.
Cookies
We store a session token so you stay signed in, and nothing else. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are set.
Your rights
You can access, export, correct, or delete your data by writing to us. If you are in the UK or EU you have the rights afforded by UK GDPR / GDPR, including the right to complain to your supervisory authority.
